In 2026, Kunstsilo will open its entire collection to the public. Tangen Collection, the world’s largest collection of Nordic modernism, will be presented across three major exhibitions. At the same time, Norwegian audiences will have the opportunity to see key works from the acquisition of the Canica Art Collection for the first time.
 
Both collections have been developed in close collaboration with Steinar Gjessing, art advisor to Nicolai Tangen and Stein Erik Hagen. Through this acquisition, the Tangen Collection is strengthened by significant art-historical key works from the period 1910–1970.
 
With its broad representation of Nordic artists, the Tangen Collection offers a unique insight into more than half a century of Nordic art. This book provides a rich and visually compelling introduction to this distinctive collection.
