Picasso – The Code of Painting viser verk fra Pablo Picassos senere år – en intens og nyskapende periode hvor han skapte kunst i et forrykende tempo og utfordret alt vi trodde vi visste om maleri.
Etter hans død ble denne perioden ofte kritisert og oversett, selv om den bærer preg av en utrolig skaperglede og frihet. Verkene bærer også spor av tiden de ble laget i – med store politiske og sosiale konflikter, og store omveltninger i malerkunsten. Over 50 malerier og en serie med 13 håndmalte keramiske tallerkener gir et rikt innblikk i denne delen av kunstnerskapet hans.
Bokens redaktører og forfattere er Dieter Buchhart og Anna K. Hofbauer. Samt bidrag fra kunsthistorikerne Pepe Karmel og Luise Mahler. Boken er rikt illustret og er en katalog for PoMos utstilling i Trondheim høsten 2025.

Picasso – The Code of Painting showcases works from Pablo Picasso's later years – an intense and innovative period where he created art at a breathtaking pace and challenged everything we thought we knew about painting.
After his death, this period was often criticized and overlooked, even though it bears the mark of incredible creative joy and freedom. The works also carry traces of the time in which they were made – with major political and social conflicts, and great upheavals in the art of painting. Over 50 paintings and a series of 13 hand-painted ceramic plates provide rich insight into this part of his artistic work.
The book's editors and authors are Dieter Buchhart and Anna K. Hofbauer, with contributions from art historians Pepe Karmel and Luise Mahler. The book is richly illustrated and serves as a catalog for PoMo's exhibition in Trondheim in the fall of 2025.
