The Norwegian art historian and museum director JanLauritz Opstad has written the fascinating story of Karen Bit Vejle’s life and work.
 
Bit uses her pair of scissors as her brush when she creates her beautiful images of art in paper. The art of psaligraphy is thousands of years old, with master artists in China and other areas of Far East.
 
This particular form of art hit Europe with the wave of Eastern influence in the 17th century and forward. Bit is of Danish origin but has been living in Norway for many years. The tradition of cutting motifs from paper is particularly strong in Denmark, and Bit has mastered the art since she was a young girl.
 
The last couple of years her art has been appreciated in many exhibitions throughout several countries. In addition to this interesting story about Bit and her work the book features beautiful photographs and even contains a piece of Bit’s art.
